Learning Overload

Training in Colorado has created anticipation of the future possibilities in cultural adaptation.

Lessons taken to heart:

Expectations can cause good or bad "twangs" to your heart.

7 hours in a plan crossing over an ocean doesn't make any magical changes in how you act or react, you have to train.

One has a choice in how they enter a culture and how they react to a culture. Both choices will result in positive or negative adjustment/incorporation into a culture.

One's cultural perspective is thoroughly ingrained, therefore it will take a significant about of work to process another culture without judgement.

Even with two weeks of training under my belt, I am still not feeling quite prepared to embark on this quickly approaching adventure.
